what scientists are optimistic about

The New Optimists: Scientists View Tomorrow's World & What It Means To Us will be published on 14th September 2010, the first day of the 2010 British Science Festival. It contains 76 responses leading scientists in the West Midlands have given to the John Brockman question What are you optimistic about?

This most exhilarating of books, as Jenny Uglow describes it in her Foreword, details a brighter future for humanity — from the future of medicine to the future of our environment and how we can better interact with it. It's about how science acts for the greater good.
