About

extelligence

extelligence.org provides ideas and ways of thinking to help us prepare for complexity, unpredictability and rapid change.

On this web site, you will find explorations of possible futures (in particular for regions in the UK), sizing the city to inform debate about possible futures, perspectives from influential thinkers and some media articles on selected topics, and insights into new mental models, tools and maps to help individuals and organisations plan well.

You can also find out more about the scientists' optimism project.

extelligence.org is in the freethinking tradition of scientific inquiry, technology development and civic responsibility of the original Lunarmen. It's rooted in the diversity, complexity and vibrancy of Birmingham, an industrial city in England's West Midlands and arguably the cradle of the Industrial Revolution.

extelligence.org is run by Kate Cooper. The coining of the name 'extelligence' can be found here.
